If
you would like to see equipment from Zyteq, we will
arrange to visit you at your facility or a convenient location.
We are based in Melbourne but make regular trips to all major
centres around Australia throughout the year.
Sessions
are held in as many major areas as possible with topics designed
to meet the interest of participants. Centrally located sessions
in regions may also be offered to which you will be invited
if we have your details.
The
aim of the sessions is to provide education about our equipment
and how it can be used. A general overview can be provided
or sessions can be tailored to meet interests, case-loads
or to meet specific needs.
session
requirements
- there
is no minimum number of people required for a session, although
it may be impractical to travel to a very remote location
to provide a session for a single inquiry, but please ask!
- there is no charge for these sessions
a reasonable sized room is necessary for the equipment to be presented
in a comfortable manner.
- A large table or two is also required.
- the room will need to be available at least 15 minutes prior to the session
start time so that equipment can be set-up ready for a prompt start.
- sessions may be as short as one hour, or as long as a whole day but common
sense needs to prevail in terms of balancing travel time, remoteness of location
and so on. This can be discussed if you are not sure what is possible or reasonable.
a screen or wall is necessary so software can be projected.
- it is helpful is parking can be provided close to the venue, with 'no-steps'
as equipment is transported in heavy cases with wheels
it is desirable if sessions can be opened to others outside your organisation
if other people from your region may wish to attend
who
should attend?
- Anyone
with an interest in equipment for people with special needs
is welcome to request a presentation or attend sessions.
- Speech Pathologists would be the primary group who need to
know about the equipment as they are generally in a position
of needing to advise clients about what is available and
possibly make recommendations about the most suitable devices.
- Occupational Therapists and AAC specialists may also be in
key roles of advising clients and making recommendations.
- Speech pathologists, teachers of students with special needs,
support workers of people with an intellectual disability,
occupational therapists, carers and parents of people with
special needs, psychologists, and interested individuals
are the usual participants of our sessions.
- The presentation
topics make a focal point for regional meetings, special
interest groups, staff meetings or other professional development
events or community activities.
the
presenter
- Zyteq's managing director Tracey Bode (B.App.SC [Speech Pathology],
M.A. [Applied Linguistics]) is the presenter.

to many years working in alternative and augmentative communication
as a hands-on Speech Pathologist, Tracey has more than 25
years experience in this field.

equipment she able to draw on their professional experience
