  • the Australian specification SL40 does not have the SIM card for SMS yet.  If you purchase the SL40 now, we will be able to make an exchange to the SMS version at no extra cost.  This will provide SMS messaging from the SL40 lightWRITER.

Mount plate for SL40

A mount plate is available for the SL40 LightWRITER. It is compatible with Rehadapt, Daessy, VESA and Toby Churchill Ltd mounting systems.

The Daessy mount plate requires a tube mount connector (IC1) shown below.  Zyteq can supply this complete assembly if required.

 

Wheelchair mount from Toby Churchill Ltd

This is a simple mount consisting of the quick-release LightWRITER SL40 mount plate, a tube connector, a right-angled rod, and a wheelchair clamp.    The wheelchair clamp can be attached to horizontal or vertical round or square tubing.  If the tubing is less than 22 mm in diameter, two spacers can be inserted (jaw inserts) to suit.  The wheelchair clamp   fits round tubing in the range 16 to 22 mm diamater and square tubing in the range 15 - 22 mm diameter.  The angle of the wheelchair clamp is sdjustable.  For further information see the entry under 'mounting systems'.

LightWRITER SL40 Carry Bag

LightWRITER carry bag

Using the LightWRITER in a carry bag can provide a safe way of taking it where it is needed. It provides some protection to the LightWRITER.

This is not supplied with the LightWRITER, but needs to be ordered as a separate item.

This carry bag is made from a tough black canvas, with a Velcro closure. It can be worn in a number of configurations.

Upon purchase the SL40 LightWRITER is supplied with three straps; a waist strap and shoulder/neck strap. The third is a short carry strap which is not compatible with this bag. The waist strap and shoulder/neck strap can be attached to the carry bag to provide several configurations. The carry bag has a short carry strap as part of its construction; providing a hand-held option.

LightWRITER Carry Bags (for SL35, SL5 - obsolete models)

Using the LightWRITER in a carry bag can provide a safe way of taking it where it is needed. It may provide some protection to the LightWRITER. There are a few options however the compact carry bag (part code 039-9068-00) is the most commonly used. This replaces the dark blue leather carry bag which is no longer available.

This black canvas bag comes with a strap that can be worn as neck or waist strap. It helps to protect the LightWRITER and makes it easy to carry the unit safely.

It can be used while seated or standing.

One-handed case (drop-leaf case)

Made from hard black plastic. This case has a hinged lid and Velcro strip and shock cord to secure the unit in the case. Designed for use by people who have the use of one hand, which would make the use of the soft case above, difficult 'on the go'. The lid of the unit is contoured to fit against the body. Two straps are supplied, one for use around the waist and one shoulder strap. The hinged shells hold the unit at right angles from the body. When closed the case sits against the body in an upright position. This case has no padding.

Protective case

Suits SL35, 38, 5, 85 (obsolete models). Holds unit, charger and strap. Recommended for transport or freighting the unit. Similar to a hard plastic briefcase.

LightWRITER Raincoats for SL35, SL5

Raincoats are pre-molded, hygienic moisture protection covers. Protective membranes cover crevices and joints where saliva, germs, food, dirt and moisture accumulate.The raincoats are HIGHLY recommended to prevent liquid and debris from entering the unit.

  • raincoats are supplied as a pair with a roll of double sided tape for fitting.
  • available in all configurations for SL35, 38, 5X and 87. Whether displays are VFD, LCD, or keyguard fitted or not. Configuration must be specified at the time of ordering.
