Details of outgoing Vibe.  Its practical size makes this lightweight device a highly portable communication tool supplied with Mind Express 5. With two displays: the Vibe has a 10″ touchscreen which makes it a practical AAC solution. The Vibe’s second display allows for easy communication with communicating partners. Face-to-face communication with friends, family and carers becomes more natural. Powerful speakers make the voice output clearer to understand. Text messaging is possible when linked to an Android phone*. Supplied standard in the "coal" coloured casing. (Terra colour casing pictured below, available "special order'). As our lightest and sleekest device the Vibe requires care as it does not have the protection of the heavier cased devices.

• There is no relevant Australian AT Standards (or ISO AT standards) applicable to this assistive technology product.

PODD

Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display [PODD] is an efficient and organized communication system for individuals with complex communication needs and their communication partners.
PODD is an integrated, multi-modal AAC system that supports autonomous communication at any time.
Authored by Gayle Porter, PODD is available in different formats (communication books and high tech SGD) to meet individual needs.

Score

Making AAC access to fringe & core vocabulary as easy as possible.

A study at the University of Cologne formed the Score communication system. Central to Score is the language development. Using a communication book learned through modelling, the user’s language is progressively developed. This principle was translated into a Mind Express 4 vocabulary.

Score consists of:

• A set of paper based communication boards
• An extended communication binder
• A comprehensive communication page set for Mind Express.

The most frequently used core words are consistently organised in a static frame around a dynamic block of fringe words. This clever setup gives the user access to core vocabulary at any time. Grammar functions are dynamically presented, based on the part of speech, and can be used to build grammatically correct messages. Learners and their communication partners use and practice with a set of selected focus words for a number of weeks, receptively as well as expressively, and in different contexts. The idea is that if the child’s language development is facilitated and subsequently improves, then the child’s communication skills will also improve. The availability of both paper based and power based resources allows a multi model approach and supports modelling variation. Score is available in PCS, Widgit and SymbolStix.
