DISCONTINUED Control Omni is a remote control system adapted for people needing alternative access to mobile phone and environment control home automation.
DISCONTINUED Control Omni is a remote control system adapted for people needing alternative access to environment control home automation. Control Omni is controlled by direct touch on the screen or external control switches (for example, head switch, sip/puff switch or foot switch) and can be used with a range of scanning modes. Auditory prompts can be recorded, and pages can be set up for voice output communication with symbols or text representing the stored messages. Control Omni is programmable, which means that it can "learn" IR codes from other remote control units such as those for a TV, video, heating/air conditioning or stereo system. Control Omni is also equipped with a built-in radio transmitter for environmental control. The screen is dynamic, and the information displayed can be arranged according to the users’ needs and preferences. Control Omni's in-built phone module is 2G which is no longer available in Australia. This means that the phone functions no longer work and the manufacturer has no development plan to upgrade or change this. Therefore we are discontuining this product for the Australian market.

Advantages of Control Omni
Control Omni makes it possible:
The Omni software consists of a menu page displaying categories which may be assigned to appliances e.g. TV or DVD player, or rooms/environments e.g. lounge room. Once selected the next page opens displaying the options available e.g. TV ON, change channel, volume up/down/mute. All pages and buttons are customisable and sample pages are supplied ready to use; only the codes for the specific appliances need to be trained onto the Control Omni. Once all the pages and codes are set-up as required, the operator can use one or two switches and scanning or direct touchscreen access to locate the required control. Any appliance that already has an inrfa-red remote control can have these codes trained onto the Control Omni, for example, TV, DVD, air conditioning, lights, heater, blinds/curtains.
The Control Omni features recorded speech which can be assigned to buttons. This can be used to make some "message" buttons. It can also be used for prompts in auditory scanning, so that the operator can hear the options being scanned.
A useful accessory for the Control Omni, the Speakbox is a substantial headset with microphone in a metal casing, with mounting points. Mounted near the face it provides hands-free use of the in-built mobile phone to make voice calls and hear a caller. It attaches to the Control Omni through its wired cable and audio port. The headset supplied with the Control Omni (shown below) provides the same functionality, however the included headset is the earpiece-style with the microphone located in the cable. The mounted Speakerbox can be in position ready for use without the need for assistance.
Specification of the speakerbox: see under Tech Specs
Please refer to the manual (under SUPPORT) for instructions on mobile phone use.
DISCONTINUED FUNCTION: The phone must first be activated by installing a standard sized SIM card. The SIM card is not included and must be purchased separately from a vendor. A telephone page is already supplied with the Control Omni however customisation can easily be carried out to improve functionality. 'Quick dial' numbers can be added for SMS or phone call. The phone functions can be accessed by the key pad on the front panel of the Control Omni or by one or two switch scanning.
For many people using the Control Omni will require it to be positioned within reach of the touchscreen, or within view if visual scanning is the preferred method of access. To mount the Control Omni the docking station is required, as the mounting points are part of this accessory. The switch jack, charger jack, mini USB connection and headset connection are also located in the docking station. Zyteq offers two mounts; both attach to the docking station.
This Swiss mounting arm provides two universal joints and one "elbow' which locks the entire mount positioning with its rotating knob. A G-clamp is used to secure the mount to furniture or wheelchair.
The Flexarm is a "gooseneck" style arm which is 'flexed' to the position required. The Flexarm section is available in 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm and 60 cm lengths. The super-clamp is used to secure the mount to furniture or wheelchair.
