tecla-e empowers individuals with physical disabilities who cannot independently use smartphones, tablets, computers or smart home technology with touchscreens and keyboards. This includes those with limited upper-body mobility resulting from spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, ALS, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, or stroke.

Tecla-e can pair with up to 8 bluetooth devices and the user can switch between these by pressing and holding one of their switches. Compatible devices include:

• Android devices with Switch Access, we recommend Pixel devices
• Samsung devices with Universal Switch
• Windows computers with compatible scanning software

tecla-e itself is a light-touch button switch that requires about 200 grams of force to activate. This feature is ideal for users who aren't familiar with switch access. Due to the device's built-in radios, tecla-e should not be positioned near a user's head. There are other switches available on the switches and accessories page. Configure your device from the Tecla app for iOS and Android, use the app as a remote control and remotely monitor a tecla-e device.

tecla-e can control Internet-enabled appliances via its WiFi connection through smart home platforms and services. tecla-e integrates with Amazon Alexa's voice assistant service. Quadriplegic users can have full control of their lighting and thermostats with access to the best mainstream devices.

tecla-e mount

The tecla-e Mount locks the tecla-e into place on your electric wheelchair for a strong and secure hold. Specifically for the tecla-e, this mount is the best solution for adding peace of mind to the durability of your device.

The tecla-e Mount is perfect for securing and accessing your device. You can use the mount to secure your tecla-e to tubing using a round clamp or the included plastic belts. Whether you wish to keep your device out of the way or place it front and center, this mount enables you to do it all.

Please note that when in the mount, the built-in switch is disabled to prevent accidental presses. If you need access to the switch when mounted, tecla-e has a standard camera mount socket at the base to be mounted in any compatible camera mount.

Don’t have a powered wheelchair but want to use the tecla-e with a directional control? The Tecla Four-Way Joystick is for you!
The Four-Way Joystick connects directly into the wheelchair port of the tecla-e, allowing fast four-switch access to Android and iOS devices. For those who work in the accessibility industry, it's also a convenient way to provide wheelchair access demos for clients and colleagues without having to bring the powered wheelchair with you. Please note the video shows the old model the Tecla Shield.

Use your wheelchair's driving controls to communicate with Tecla!
If you would like to connect your Tecla Shield to your powered wheelchair, this cable is for you. The Wheelchair Cable connects to your wheelchair's Environmental Control Unit (ECU) box, which is the device that allows you to use the Tecla Shield directly from your wheelchair’s driving controls. If you are not sure whether your wheelchair has an ECU, please check with the wheelchair's manufacturer.
