Our Microsoft Surface Pro Mountable bundles are designed to suit people of all ages who need more than the tablet alone but are not needing the fully featured dedicated devices.

This bundle is designed for:

OPTION 1: UAG Plasma Case with Daessy VESA Mount Plate

This case option is the slim-line case combined with a tempered glass screen protector. Ideal for users wanting to maintain the slim-lines of the Surface Pro while adding protection and Daessy mount plate. The case for the Surface Pro is described as featherlight composite construction with a durable impact resistant soft core.  The Daessy VESA plate adds to the overall weight but provides a mount plate for positioning, and can be upgraded to add the IntelliGaze NXT eye gaze camera.  An adapter to convert to Rehadapt is available for purchase.  [See additional images under the IMAGES tab].

 


OPTION 2: Protective MP Case with Rehadapt VESA Mount Plate

This option is highly protective of the Surface Pro tablet. This case has a military standard shockproof rating of MIL-STD-810H.  The front of the case has a protective layer and is sealed to the casing so it is water resistant.  Water and debris can only enter through the ports where the port covers are open for charging for example, so if all ports covers are correctly closed the case provides waterproof protection.  The Rehadapt VESA plate provides the mounting point for positioning.  An Daessy VESA mount plate could be made available. This case can be upgraded to an eye gaze system.  Our experience with this is that the protective cover over the screen does slightly impact the touch senstivity.   [See additional images under the IMAGES tab].

How To Trial:  Microsoft Surface Pro Mountable Bundle

Equipment trial is key to making a good purchasing decision. We view equipment trial as a collaborative process, because we appreciate that choosing specialised technology to suit an individual need and a unique situation is more involved than purchasing from a retail store. If you feel that you do not need extra assistance or any specialised adaptations then please go ahead and make your purchase from a retail store.

Our responsibilities in the trial process – are to provide the equipment and the support and information to ensure you are able to decide whether this is the right device for you at the end of the trial period. It may not be the right device and that is fine. The aim is to have a clear picture of what worked for you and what didn’t.

Your responsibilities in the trial process – are to dedicate the required time to evaluating the equipment; trying out what you would like to do with the technology and being available at the check points to discuss progress and ask questions. 

Hire to Trial

How Hire to trial works:

  • The hire of the MS Surface Pro Mountable bundle follows our general terms and conditions.

  • This hire is for the purpose of trialling the system before committing to purchase so that you can be sure it is the right system to meet your needs.

  • To achieve this we offer our guided evaluation, which includes our support before, during and towards the end of the trial to help with the decision about suitability of the system trialed.

  • This is our clinical hire which uses a collaborative approach between the device user, their primary clinician and the Zyteq team.

  • A clinician, usually Occupational Therapist or Speech Pathologist is required to be party to this trial.

  • This approach aligns with funding agencies where an Assistive Technology report is required. 

  • During this trial of the surface pro bundle we will be available to support the specialised assistive technology aspects of the system and its use.

  • It will be possible to request approval to install apps other than those provided, however we will be unable to support these additional apps.

Hiring gives you options:

  • Choose an initial trial period of the Surface Pro bundles of 2 or 4 weeks.

  • The initial trial can be extended by adding a 12 week hire. 

  • A proportion of the hire funds are reimbursed if purchased within 6 months of the end of the trial. 50% of the hire fee is refunded by way of reducing the purchase price, when a confirmed purchase is received within 6 months of the final date of the hire. 

  • ​If you would like to purchase the system you have on hire, a quote can be requested and the transfer of ownership arranged. 

No clinician? How to Trial

As we only supply specialised technology we usually recommend support from a clinician during the trial period. 
This is to ensure that the outcome of the trial process is the selection of the most suitable equipment for the individual. 
The hire period provides the opportunity to fully explore the equipment and its use, ask questions, adjust settings and try all relevant aspects of the system.

If you are not working with a clinician and don’t require an assistive technology report you can undertake a trial of the MS Surface Pro 7 Bundles through our Purchase or Return offer. (Subject to availability)

How Purchase or Return works

This works by initiating the purchase of the system.  

Prior to the dispatch of the new device you will receive a document around the terms and conditions of the “purchase or return” policy.  It is important that all the terms are fully understood so we also offer a phone call at this point to run through the document.  We want to ensure full transparency about the return terms and conditions, to avoid misunderstandings or disappointments if the device is returned.

Once the signed document is returned the next step of the order can take place. You will receive a new system which you would own unless you decide to return it because it is unsuitable.

It will be important for us to keep in touch during the first 30 days and so we will establish the best contact person and best way to communicate.

The timeline to return the system is 30 days. This means you can decide at any time within the 30 days to return the equipment to Zyteq for a refund*.  The equipment must be dispatched from your premises by the 30th day. 
We have a procedure for this which is provided at the time of purchase.  All details are in the pre-purchase agreement also.

During the 30 days we are available to assist with your trial through your Premium Plan support sessions.  This can help you to feel fully informed about the device and how to use it head of deciding whether it is the most suitable system for you.

If the device proves to be not suitable and you wish to return it there is an application to return the equipment which requires some details such as the reason for return. 

There are two important points to note about return:

  1. This return is different to a response to a faulty product.  If a device is determined to have a fault, the device is returned for our evaluation and this triggers a different procedure than the “Purchase or Return”
  2. We do not want you to persist with a system that is not right for you so we prefer to have the system returned if unsuitable.  The return must be within the terms so this is why a diligent evaluation is required in the first 30 days.

If returning the device it must be in resaleable condition. What this means is that all packaging, included documents, accessories must be returned in clean and “as new” condition. Proof of purchase must be provided.

Once returned the equipment is checked and evaluated and your refund will be calculated.  The refund will take the purchase price and deduct a 15% restocking and service fee, plus any additional costs to replace any missing or damaged items. 
This fee is to cover the value of what has essentially been a hire period including the services and support to provide an opportunity to trial and evaluate the device.

Refunds are made to the same method of payment received upon purchase.

Purchase or return is not available for special orders or customised systems. 

Long Term Rental: 12 weeks hire

We offer 12 weeks hire however this is not intended to  serve as the initial trial. First a 2 or 4 week trial should be undertaken to ensure this is the correct system. Once this is established we can go ahead and turn the 2 or 4 week trial into a 12 week trial as a continuous period in most cases where funds are in place.

Connecting a phone to Grid 3 in Surface Pro

There have been some issues reported in regards to connecting a phone to a Surface Pro, but this does not appear to be all phones or all Surface Pros. If you attempt to connect via Grid 3 using the Smartbox instructions and the connection is unsuccessful, Smartbox recommend the Plugable USB Bluetooth Adapter as a tested product to allow phone connection through Grid 3.

Warranty and AT Standards

  • There is no relevant Australian AT Standards (or ISO AT standards) applicable to this assistive technology product.

  • A 2 year warranty against manufacturing defaults. This does not include usual wear and tear, perishable and external accessories and batteries, damage to touchscreen/displays and accidental/neglect damage. 

Ongoing Level 1 Support

Level 1 support is included with purchase of Zyteq’s major systems.  This is for support which includes “basic issues and questions of a straight-forward and simple nature,” and it is available during business hours (AEST).  Free advice and support is also available where instructions and resources are provided for a "do-it-yourself" solution. Many useful support instructions and troubleshooting strategies are located on our website, which is continuously accessible. For the more involved questions or for a personalised training session the Premium Plan is included for the first 3 months, and can be renewed after expiry.

Zyteq's Premium Plan for Support, Training and Maintenance

A 3 month plan is supplied with your device. This is over and above Level 1 support and is ideal for help with getting started with a new system, or for a block of assistance for to cover a special setup or to receuve training on an aspect of the device or programming of the software. 

Microsoft's Extended Hardware Service (3 years)

Microsoft Extended Hardware Service is cover for Complete Accident. This option extends the commercial warranty from 2 to 3 years & you can make up to 2 claims within this period for accidental damage. 

Microsoft's Commercial Warranty

The Surface Tablets we supply come with a 2 year commercial warranty. This provides a number of extra terms over the the standard warranty, for example this means that a device found to be faulty within 30 days will be replaced. You can access the Support for Business and register a service request directly with Microsoft, or we can access this service on your behalf. The standard retail warranty is just 1 year.

Connecting a phone to Grid 3 in Surface Pro
